Capabilities & availability
More context.
More considered decisions.
These capabilities are implemented in Prairie Desktop 0.9.3 and available within its private beta. Each has a clear role—and a clear boundary.
Decision modeling
Evaluate taking work, hiring, or buying equipment. Use explicit costs, workload, capacity, and supported cash assumptions to understand the consequences of the proposal.
The assessment follows deterministic rules. You make the management decision.
Scenario comparisons
Change supported assumptions and compare alternatives against the starting case. Explore different prices, costs, hours, or capacity choices without changing current company facts.
Scenarios are isolated alternatives. A changed input does not always change the headline answer.
Uncertainty, made explicit
Review Upside, Base, and Downside cases, sensitivity, and the conditions that could change an answer. See which assumptions deserve your attention.
Cases are deterministic illustrations, not probabilities. Confidence describes the evidence, not the likelihood of success.
Your company’s history
Import completed-work records from CSV or XLSX. Compare estimates with actuals and use sufficiently comparable history to inform supported assumptions.
History is optional. Its usefulness depends on the quantity, comparability, and consistency of your records.
Decision tracking
Keep working revisions, save checkpoints, and record an explicit commitment. Reconsider a choice in a linked revision while preserving the original decision context.
Saving an analysis is separate from accepting work or authorizing an investment.
Actual-outcome analysis
Compare what happened with the preserved cases. Review differences and verify eligible accepted-work results before including them in company history.
Later results never rewrite what was known at the time of the decision.
Evidence & provenance
Follow the assessment back through calculations and inputs to their source. Inspect dates, history, assumptions, and stated limitations.
Traceability explains the origin of an input. It does not independently establish that the input is correct.
MarketFacts
Bring governed public context into supported assumptions through verified, signed packages. Inspect the source, relevance, and observation dates.
Current beta observations are NON-LIVE / TEST CONTEXT, scoped to manufacturing in Wichita, Kansas. They are not a live market feed or current price quotes.
A clear product boundary
Useful limits are part of the product.
Prairie evaluates your estimates and operating choices. It does not replace accounting, scheduling, or management judgment. The customer runtime has no AI model. Broader public-data coverage and portable workspace transfer are future ideas, not available features or dated commitments.
